Timeless Lands

Set in the Scandinavian Arctic regions and the Scottish Highland taiga (known in North America as boreal forest) are endless lands of lichens, mosses, dwarf willows, grass and the occasional windblown birches. To me, these landscapes seem taken straight from my wildest fantasies. These landscapes are vast and almost intimidating. Travelling on foot through these landscapes, I feel how short and fragile my life is. The landscapes make me contemplate my own insignificance as compared to the almost timeless nature of the mountains.

Timeless Lands was photographed in Sweden, Norway and Scotland starting in 2016. The project is still ongoing.
